MOSCOW, Feb 13 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- The bodies of approximately 8,000 victims remain under the rubble of destroyed buildings in the Gaza Strip, with more than 3,000 people still missing, Sputnik/RIA Novosti reported, citing Gaza Civil Defence spokesman Mahmoud Bassal.
"About 8,000 bodies remain under the rubble ... The fate of more than 3,000 people remains unknown. We don't know whether they are alive, in captivity, or dead," Bassal was quoted as saying by Al Jazeera broadcaster on Thursday.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, the total number of deaths in the exclave since October 7, 2023, has exceeded 72,000, with more than 171,000 injured.
