KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 3 (Bernama) -- After 25 years of making her mark in the music industry, Shila Amzah is set to grace one of the country’s most prestigious stages, the Petronas Philharmonic Hall (DFP), through a solo concert described as the pinnacle of her artistic journey.

The concert, titled Resonance: Shila Amzah in Harmony – 25 Years of Music & Memories, is scheduled to take place on May 9, in conjunction with the celebration of the silver jubilee of Shila - whose real name is Nurshahila Amir Amzah - marking her involvement in the music industry since the age of 10.

The singer of Patah Seribu said that the opportunity to perform at DFP is not merely a career milestone, but a long-held dream which has finally come true.

“Performing at DFP is every singer’s and musician’s dream, because its acoustics are very different from other venues. This is one of the greatest achievements for me personally,” she told reporters recently.

The eldest daughter of veteran singer Datuk ND Lala also described the concert as especially meaningful, as it marks the first time she has been given full creative freedom to produce a performance entirely aligned with her own vision.

“From a preparation standpoint, alhamdulillah, this is the first time I genuinely feel I am creating from the heart, even if my perfectionist tendencies occasionally make matters difficult for those around me.

“Performing at DFP inevitably brings a sense of nervousness. As this concert marks 25 years of my journey, I want the performance to meet everyone’s expectations,” she said.

In terms of the performance content, Shila said audiences can expect more than 25 songs that span her entire artistic journey, including early works, popular hits, Mandarin selections, and the latest songs from her SA25 album.

“Some of the older songs will have to be presented in medleys, due to requests from both long-time and new fans. I will also perform songs from my childhood, from my early days in the industry,” she said.

The Asian Wave 2012 champion added that the concert will be divided into several segments, reflecting different phases of her life and career.

“When audiences attend the concert, they will go through moments of nostalgia, sadness, falling down and then rising again. That is the journey of my life,” said Shila, who now frequently travels between Malaysia and China.

The mother of two also did not rule out the possibility of extending the concert to a second night, should it receive an overwhelming response.

“We are already mentally and physically prepared if there is an opportunity to add another night,” she said, adding that rehearsals have been ongoing since last year.

Tickets are priced from RM199 to RM649 and are available at the DFP Box Office counters or online.
