FINAS Ziarah Seni Madani Visits Shamsul Ghau Ghau

BANGI, Jan 30 (Bernama) — The visit by National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) Chairman Datuk Hans Isaac to the home of comedian Shamsul Ghau Ghau in Bandar Baru Bangi today reflects Finas’ commitment to always stand together with industry practitioners.

Hans said the contribution presented to Shamsul during the Finas Ziarah Seni MADANI programme was meant to assist arts industry players who are facing hardships, including health issues.

“We never know when our friends in the industry will be struck by difficulties or health problems. So it is our responsibility to be there for them — not only when they are at the peak of success, but also during hard times.

“In this industry, there is no difference whether one is a popular artiste, a director or a crew member — everyone is treated the same. There is no double standard when it comes to helping them… That is Finas’ responsibility, and we stand together with the industry as a whole,” he told reporters.

During the visit, which was also attended by Finas Committee Chairman for Industry Affairs, Welfare and Industry Data Rozaidi Abdul Jamil, also known as Zed Zaidi, Hans presented a cash contribution.

Previously, the media reported that Shamsul Ghau Ghau, whose real name is Shamsul Azahar Aliddin and who is also an actor, recently underwent surgery to remove a blood clot in the left side of his brain following a haemorrhage.

Shamsul, 58, received treatment at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Hospital (HSAA) in Serdang.

Shamsul’s wife, Sharifah Azrinah, 52, said her husband still requires close support, especially during the first 90 days of recovery as advised by doctors. She also shared that Shamsul is experiencing speech difficulties following the incident.

“I truly appreciate the concern shown by Finas and the industry friends who came to offer their support. Their assistance and prayers mean so much to our family as we go through this difficult phase,” she said.
