PUTRAJAYA, Jan 26 (Bernama) -- The Program Jualan RAHMAH MADANI (PJRM) in the Putrajaya parliamentary constituency kicked off today, with an inaugural event at Anjung Kementerian Komunikasi offering cost-of-living relief for civil servants.
Held over two days until tomorrow, the event allows civil servants from various ministries to conveniently purchase essential items at discounted prices right at their workplaces.
Norsuhana Mamat Hussein, 41, an administrative assistant at the Communications Ministry, said that having the PJRM on the ministry grounds made it easier for civil servants to meet their daily needs while saving both time and expenses amid their busy work schedules.
“This sale helps me save money and prepare for the upcoming Ramadan,” she told Bernama when met here today.
For Mohamed Khairudin Abdul Rashid, 43, an administrative assistant (Clerical/Operations), the initiative offers much-needed support to civil servants and their families, especially ahead of Ramadan.
“The prices are low and really help our family save, especially in the current difficult economic climate,” he said.
Head of Private Security Guards at the Communications Ministry Muhammad Aidil Haikal Marzuki welcomed the PJRM as a commendable initiative while suggesting that its implementation could be improved for greater impact.
He said the prices of the goods were reasonable and recommended that a wider range of products be offered.
The PJRM was launched on Jan 11, 2023, as one of the initiatives under the Payung RAHMAH programme, implemented by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN).
Through the programme, consumers can save between 10 and 30 per cent on daily essentials compared with local market prices.
The PJRM’s implementation spans all 600 state constituencies nationwide, as well as 40 zones in the Federal Territory.
