LABUAN, Jan 15 (Bernama) -- Labuan International School (LIS) recorded an exceptional performance in the 2025 International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations, with all 12 candidates passing every subject taken.

It said in a statement to Bernama today that the results reflected strong and consistent academic performance across the cohort, with the highest individual achievement being seven A grades.

Overall, 91.7 per cent of candidates secured at least one A, while all candidates obtained a minimum of two A grades.

Most subjects recorded 100 per cent results at B grade and above, demonstrating broad-based strength across the curriculum.

One of the most inspiring achievements was recorded by Hanna Hii, a wheelchair-bound student with special needs, who attained straight A results.

LIS chief executive officer Raaj Ganesh Chandragsan said Hanna has been a LIS student since primary school, and her success highlights the impact of appropriate support and inclusive educational practices in unlocking academic potential.

“Her parents expressed appreciation to the school, thanking the teachers and the principal for their continuous support throughout her studies, including the provision of online learning during periods of illness and special arrangements during the IGCSE examinations,” he said.

He said the achievement was the result of a collective effort by students, teachers and parents.

"The results reflect the dedication of our students, the commitment of our teachers, and the parents' strong trust and support.

“Education is always a shared effort, and I am deeply grateful to our teachers for going beyond the classroom, and to our parents for walking closely with the school throughout their children’s learning journey,” he said.

Raaj Ganesh said LIS attributed the strong outcomes to the determination of its students, close collaboration with parents, and a learning environment that places equal emphasis on inclusion and academic excellence.

He added that with the school’s excellent results in the 2025 IGCSE, the school has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that every student is supported to achieve their best.
