KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16 (Bernama) -- Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, has issued a letter of commendation to Balvinder Dhillon for bringing honour to Malaysia on the international stage in the field of medical research.
Balvinder, 24, a graduate in biomedical engineering, won two highly prestigious annual Global Undergraduate Awards in Dublin, Ireland, consecutively since last year.
She is currently studying Human and Biological Robotics at Imperial College London.
The letter from Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah was presented by Istana Negara administrative officer (Administration) Zulfadli Zakaria at the Malaysian High Commission office in London yesterday, according to a post shared on the official Facebook page of Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.
Balvinder expressed her gratitude for the recognition, adding that she hopes the achievement will inspire the younger generation in Malaysia to strive for excellence in their respective fields for the future of the nation.
“The letter from Her Majesty the Queen of Malaysia is truly meaningful as it recognises not only my own efforts, but also the unwavering support of my family, mentors and the country that I am proud of.
“It is a reminder that Malaysia is always capable of producing world-class talent. I humbly convey my deepest gratitude,” she said.
