Tunku Mahkota Ismail Urges Federal Gov't To Resolve Overcrowding At Major Hospitals In Johor

JOHOR BAHRU, July 8 (Bernama) -- Johor Regent Tunku Mahkota Ismail today urged the Federal Government to expedite filling vacancies in the health sector to solve the extraordinary overcrowding at several major hospitals in the state.

His Royal Highness voiced his concern about the critical situation in Sultanah Aminah Hospital, Sultan Ismail Hospital, Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim Hospital and several other hospitals hit by a lack of employees.

“I would like to urge the Health Ministry to take immediate action to assign health workers so that the hospitals can operate fully and fulfil the health needs of Bangsa Johor.

“I also urge the Federal Government to expedite approvals to fill vacancies that have caused extraordinary congestion in hospitals that face a lack of staff,” the Regent posted on Facebook after the opening of Pasir Gudang Hospital.

The Regent also stressed that healthcare services were not a luxury but a basic human right that needs to be met.

“The welfare of Bangsa Johor is a priority to me. I will not neglect this priority and will continue to speak out so that the voice of Bangsa Johor will not be lost in the maze of administraton and prcedure,” His Royal Highness added.
