IPOH, May 31 (Bernama) -- The Ipoh Bikerz Day At The Park held at Taman D.R. Seenivasagam here, has drawn participation from 50 high-powered motorcycle clubs, including from Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia, injecting excitement into Perak’s tourism scene, particularly in Ipoh.
Organising chairman Abdul Salim Putera Ahmad Shibi said the inaugural two-day event, which kicked off today, attracted over 2,000 motorcycle enthusiasts.
“This event not only promotes Ipoh as a destination for bikers’ tours but also draws public interest, giving a boost to the local economy,” he told Bernama here today.
Jointly organised by iMil Global and Sam Custom, in collaboration with Ipoh City Council (MBI), Tourism Perak, and Koloni Karyawan Aman Jaya (PORT), the programme features a wide range of activities.
Highlights on the first day included a singing contest, a motorcycle convoy around the city, and a motorbike showcase featuring models such as Harley-Davidson and BMW.
A concert featuring Man Kidal, Teja, and other local performers was held at night, while the second day offers mini games like tug of war, sack races with helmets, motorcycle balancing challenges, and a food vendor bazaar.
Abdul Salim said the strong turnout indicates promising potential for the event to be held annually.
He expressed hope that the state government would include Ipoh Bikerz Day in Perak’s official tourism calendar, noting its impact on drawing visitors and supporting the local tourism industry.
