Bank Muamalat Wins Two Honours At Islamic Retail Banking Awards 2025

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20 (Bernama) -- Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd has clinched the IRBA Excellence Award for Islamic Retail Banking in Malaysia 2025 and the Best Islamic Retail Bank for Social Finance Initiatives in Malaysia 2025 at the Islamic Retail Banking Award (IRBA) 2025 held in Karachi, Pakistan.

Bank Muamalat, in a statement, said the recognitions strengthened its position as a trusted and innovative full-fledged Islamic financial institution committed to driving inclusive growth and community development.

"Bank Muamalat’s commendable achievements in the retail banking segment reflect its focus on enhancing customer experience, expanding digital accessibility, and strengthening financial inclusion.

"In line with its vision of creating 'Better Lives, Together', the bank’s retail strategy continues to deliver shariah-compliant and customer-centric financial solutions tailored to meet the diverse needs of Malaysians from all walks of life," it said.

The award for social finance highlights Bank Muamalat’s commitment to empowering micro-entrepreneurs and vulnerable groups to access financing, business mentorship, and social mobility opportunities through initiatives such as iTEKAD, Wakaf Muamalat and the Jariah Fund.

Bank Muamalat president and chief executive officer Datuk Khairul Kamarudin said the recognition reflects the bank's commitment to excellence and innovation in Islamic retail banking.

"We are honoured by the acknowledgement of our efforts in social finance, reaffirming our belief that Islamic banking should not only drive growth but also create meaningful impact within the community," he said.

In its eleventh year, IRBA, held alongside the Islamic Retail Banking Summit, serves as a global platform celebrating excellence in Islamic financial institutions across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Asia, Africa and other regions.
