NAIO Seeks Public Feedback For National AI Action Plan

KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 (Bernama) -- The National Artificial Intelligence Office (NAIO) is seeking public feedback for its National AI Action Plan 2026-2030.

Under the Digital Ministry, it has launched a public consultation to gather views on Malaysia’s readiness and priorities for artificial intelligence (AI), marking the first step towards the National AI Action Plan.

In a statement today, the Digital Ministry said the consultation, conducted through a short online questionnaire, aims to gather input on concerns including job displacement, data privacy, and opportunities for AI in public services, education, and sustainability.

”Participants are also encouraged to share bold or imaginative ideas on how AI can improve everyday life, from public services and safety to sustainability and education,” it said.

The ministry added that NAIO is committed to ensuring Malaysia’s AI development is planned in an inclusive and forward-looking manner.

“Public feedback will form a critical foundation for policies and initiatives that address real societal needs and drive the nation’s progress,” it said.

It also said that the National AI Action Plan will adopt a whole-of-nation approach to ensure the different sectors — the government, industries, academia and the public — are involved with a clear aspiration to build a robust, inclusive and trust AI system.

The questionnaire is available on NAIO’s website at www.ai.gov.my and on its official LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook platforms.
