Gold Futures End Lower On Stronger US Dollar

KUALA LUMPUR, May 9 (Bernama) -- The gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower today, pressured by a stronger US dollar.

At today’s close, the spot month May 2025 contract decreased to US$3,335.10 per troy ounce from  US$3,349.30 on Thursday.

The June 2025, July 2025, August 2025, and October 2025 contracts fell to US$3,348.10 per troy ounce from US$3,362.30 per troy ounce previously.

Trading volume slipped to 88 lots from 102 lots on Thursday, while open interest declined to 42 contracts from 125 contracts previously.

According to the London Bullion Market Association’s afternoon fix on May 8, physical gold was priced at US$3,352.30 per troy ounce.
