Malaysian Rubber Board Activates April Incentives For Sabah, Sarawak

KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 (Bernama) -- The Rubber Production Incentive (IPG) for smallholders has been activated for Sabah and Sarawak based on rubber production in April 2025, said the Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB).

In a statement, the MRB said the IPG will be activated if the average monthly farmgate price for cuplump rubber is at RM3.00 per kilogramme (kg) or below.

In April 2025, the average farmgate prices for cuplump were RM 3.20 per kg in Peninsular Malaysia, RM2.90 per kg in Sabah and RM2.70 per kg in Sarawak.

For Sabah, the IPG rate for cuplump and latex is 10 sen per kg for 50 per cent dry rubber content (DRC) and 20 sen per kg for 100 per cent DRC.

In Sarawak, the rate is 30 sen per kg for 50 per cent DRC and 60 sen per kg for 100 per cent DRC.

Meanwhile, the IPG rate for latex is 90 sen per kg for 100 per cent DRC.

MRB said smallholders in Sabah and Sarawak are eligible to receive IPG payments from May 1 to 31, 2025, based on their rubber production in April 2025.

The IPG for cuplump and latex remains inactive in Peninsular Malaysia for April 2025. Hence, no IPG payments will be made for this month.
