US Dollar Ticks Up

 NEW YORK, April 24 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The US dollar climbed in late trading on Wednesday, reported Xinhua.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, increased by 0.94 per cent to 99.844 at 3:00 pm (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro decreased to US$1.1322 from US$1.1426 in the previous session, and the British pound fell to US$1.3265 from US$1.3336 in the previous session.

The US dollar bought 143.45 Japanese yen, higher than 141.50 Japanese yen of the previous session. The US dollar increased to 0.8297 Swiss francs from 0.8189 Swiss francs, and it added to 1.3887 Canadian dollars from 1.3815 Canadian dollars. The US dollar climbed to 9.7032 Swedish kronor from 9.5556 Swedish kronor.
