UEM Sunrise Gets Nod For Mixed-used Residential Project In Perth

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 18 (Bernama) -- UEM Sunrise Bhd has secured development approval from Development WA, the Western Australian state government’s central land and development agency, for its Subiaco East mixed-use residential project in Perth.

In a statement today, the property developer said the project, located at a 0.49-hectare site at The Oval, Subiaco East, Perth, was the first approved development under the Subiaco East Masterplan, which aims to boost local housing supply through innovative living solutions.

UEM Sunrise has dedicated 12 per cent of the units to affordable housing, providing future residents, including local essential workers, access to quality homes and vibrant urban living.

Its chief executive officer, Sufian Abdullah, said the project is not only about introducing the unique UEM Sunrise experience to Perth but also about supporting the local market by addressing pressing housing demands and fostering a sustainable, inclusive community.

“Through this development, we are showcasing our expertise in innovation, quality, and design excellence on a global stage,” he said.

UEM Sunrise that the development, set to target a five-star Green Star rating under the new Green Star v1.0 standard, underscores its commitment to sustainability.

“Community-oriented facilities, including infrastructure support for events at the Heritage Gates Park, storage for local football clubs at The Oval, and 400 square metres of ground-floor retail space in Lot 1, will enrich the Subiaco Oval precinct, further enhancing its appeal as a hub of connectivity and vibrant living.

“With thoughtfully curated communal areas, this development is set to commence construction in 2026, offering a sustainable, community-centric living environment in Perth,” he added.
