KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 (Bernama) -- Belgium's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign, European Affairs and Development Cooperation Minister Maxime Prévot will undertake a two-day working visit to Malaysia beginning Thursday, with talks set to focus on cooperation in renewable energy, rare earth elements and the halal industry.

“During the meeting, both sides will review the current state of Malaysia–Belgium relations and explore new avenues of cooperation, particularly in renewable energy, rare earth elements and halal cooperation,” the statement said.

Discussions will also cover Malaysia-European Union relations, as well as regional and international developments of mutual interest, it said.

Prévot is also scheduled to deliver a ministerial address at the 39th Asia-Pacific Roundtable organised by the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia and is expected to have an audience with the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.
