KOTA SAMARAHAN, July 1 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) is prepared to consider requests for additional Community Sports Fund (DSK) allocations for any state that has fully utilised its existing allocation.
Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Mordi Bimol said this is because the fund is open to all states and sports clubs that meet the application requirements.
He said the fund was established to help communities and sports clubs organise various sporting activities nationwide.
"The DSK is available to all states and all clubs. They only need to submit their applications through the proper channels for consideration," he told reporters after officiating the 2026 Women in Sports Leadership Seminar at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Kota Samarahan today.
He was responding to a question on whether KBS plans to expand the model of providing additional funding, similar to that granted to Penang, to other states that have demonstrated strong performance.
Mordi said KBS also provides various forms of assistance, including the Sports Matching Grant (GPS), to support the organisation of sporting activities at all levels, including the grassroots.
For this year, he said KBS has allocated RM30 million for the Sports Matching Grant and RM20 million for the Community Sports Fund.
