BEAUFORT, May 22 (Bernama) -- The number of flood evacuees in Beaufort dropped to 308 people from 107 families as of 8 pm tonight, compared with 338 people from 121 families this morning.
The Sabah State Disaster Management Committee secretariat, in a statement, said the number of evacuees had remained unchanged since yesterday before recording a decline tonight.
All evacuees are being sheltered at the Selagon Permanent Relief Centre here, it said.
“They comprise 160 adults and senior citizens, as well as 148 children. A total of 11 villages have been affected and no fatalities have been reported,” the statement read.
