KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Army (TDM) will conduct Gerak Pantas 2026 Exercise in Kelantan and Terengganu from tomorrow until May 15 to assess the force’s combat readiness and operational capabilities in addressing national security threats.
In a statement today, TDM said the annual exercise will involve the 10th Parachute Brigade (10 Briged Para), with operational areas in Kelantan covering Cherang Ruku and Pasir Puteh, while in Terengganu, it will take place around Gong Kedak Air Base, Besut and Kuala Terengganu.
“As such, the public is advised to exercise caution on the roads and not be alarmed by the movement of military personnel and convoys, aerial asset operations, as well as sounds of explosions in the areas involved throughout the duration of the exercise, particularly during the final assault phase scheduled for May 15 in the vicinity of Tok Gong Dam in Besut, Terengganu.
“All training activities will be conducted in a planned and controlled manner, with strict adherence to public safety procedures,” the statement said.
TDM also expressed its appreciation to the Kelantan and Terengganu state governments, security agencies involved, and local communities for their cooperation and support in ensuring the success of the exercise, in order to strengthen military preparedness and safeguard the country’s sovereignty.
