BUKIT MERTAJAM, April 22 (Bernama) -- The Yayasan Kita Anak Malaysia has assisted over 300,000 students nationwide, including high achievers, orphans and those from underprivileged families, since its establishment five years ago.

Its founder and chairman H. Puvaniten said the assistance is provided continuously to support students in need and ensure no one is left behind in education.

To date, the foundation has helped over 300,000 pupils and students, with total contributions amounting to millions of ringgit, including incentives for those who achieve excellent examination results and students in public and private higher education institutions with high CGPAs.

“The contributions are given in cash to support their education and encourage them to continue excelling academically,” he told reporters after the Yayasan Kita Anak Malaysia Jalinan Kasih Programme, officiated by Penang Housing and Environment Committee chairman Datuk Seri S. Sundarajoo here tonight.

Puvaniten said about 35,000 students in Penang have benefited from various forms of educational assistance provided by the foundation.

He said the foundation also extends support to other groups, including the elderly, underprivileged families and asnaf children in need.

He added that Yayasan Kita Anak Malaysia will continue to take a proactive approach in developing a comprehensive education ecosystem, including collaboration with higher education institutions, industry players and government agencies to ensure inclusive, sustainable and impactful development aligned with future national needs.

“Through this approach, the foundation not only focuses on academic excellence but also emphasises character development, leadership and student well-being,” he said.
