KUALA LUMPUR, April 14 (Bernama) -- The Prime Minister’s political secretary, Datuk Azman Abidin, today handed over donations to storm victims at the Seri Pinang Public Housing to help ease their burden following the recent disaster.
Each household received RM300 in cash assistance from the Social Welfare Department (JKM), along with RM1,000 from Kuala Lumpur City Hall. An additional RM500 contribution for each household from the parliamentary constituency will be distributed at a later date.
Azman said the assistance was aimed at providing immediate relief to families coping with the aftermath of the storm.
“This aid reflects the continued commitment of agencies, including Kuala Lumpur City Hall and the Social Welfare Department, to ensure the welfare of affected residents is safeguarded,” he told reporters.
He said the government, through various agencies, will continue to monitor the situation of storm victims and ensure that appropriate assistance is consistently provided.
In the storm incident, three houses were reported damaged after strong winds tore off parts of their roofs.
Prior to this, immediate emergency assistance, including food supplies and basic necessities, had already been distributed to the victims shortly after the incident.
