KUALA LUMPUR, April 4 (Bernama) -- A strong 6.0‑magnitude earthquake struck the northern Maluku Sea in Indonesia at 9.35 am today.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said in a statement that the quake occurred at a depth of 11 kilometres, about 96 km southeast of Bitung.
The earthquake did not pose a tsunami threat to Malaysia, it said.
