KUALA LUMPUR, March 19 (Bernama) -- Passengers of the Electric Train Service (ETS) and Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) are advised to check their ticket details and arrive at least 30 minutes early to avoid being denied access to the platform’s paid area.

Acting general manager of KTMB ETS and Intercity Services Mohd Azhar Abu Bakar said passengers should also follow KTMB’s official social media channels and download the KTMB and ETS mobile apps for the latest updates.

“KTMB has carried out maintenance on all trains to ensure smooth operations and the comfort of passengers throughout the Aidilfitri period, from March 17 to 29.

“We have also stationed personnel at key stations, including KL Sentral, JB Sentral, Alor Setar, Ipoh and Butterworth, to assist in controlling crowd flow,” he said during a live interview with Bernama TV at KL Sentral today.

Mohd Azhar  said KTMB had allocated over 251,000 tickets for Aidilfitri this year, including 71,728 for additional train services.

He said that for normal trips, KTMB had provided about 180,000 tickets, all of which had been sold out.

“Therefore, we have added additional trains with 71,728 tickets. That brings the total to over 251,000, making it our biggest ticket sale ever,” he said.
