PUTRAJAYA, March 17 (Bernama) -- The National Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Day 2026 will be held from June 5 to 7 at Dataran Putrajaya, said Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.
Fahmi, also the MADANI Government’s spokesperson, said further details about the celebration will be announced by the organising secretariat soon.
“The information provided to the Cabinet is as I have mentioned, and I believe the secretariat will release additional details soon,” he said at the post-Cabinet press conference today.
He said the matter was presented to the Cabinet, which also reviewed the outcomes of the 10th TVET Council meeting held on March 5.
“The TVET Council meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi,” he said, adding that one of the highlights presented was a significant 500 per cent increase in TVET programme participants nationwide.
He added that the Ministry of Transport also presented plans to strengthen TVET programmes for upcoming Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) retirees.
“A total of 100 individuals (MAF retirees) will be absorbed into the logistics sector with salaries of up to RM5,000. This is one of the initiatives currently being pursued,” he said.
