LABUAN, March 13 (Bernama) -- The Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) here continues to play its core role of identifying and assisting eligible beneficiaries by reaching out directly to families affected by tragedies.
Labuan PERKESO manager Sylvester Candy Anak Pai said the organisation remains committed to ensuring that eligible dependants receive the protection and assistance provided under the national social security system.
“PERKESO will always be on the lookout to identify families who are eligible for our benefits.
“Through visits such as this, we are able not only to extend our condolences but also to clearly explain the assistance available so that no rightful recipient is left behind,” he said.
He was speaking to Bernama after visiting the family of the late Mohd Faizal Musiman, an accident victim and PERKESO benefit recipient at Kampung Pohon Batu here today.
Mohd Faizal, 33, an auxiliary policeman at Labuan port, was killed when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) along Jalan Rancha-Rancha here.
“During the visit, we explained the benefits and assistance available to the family and presented a Care Box as a gesture of support,” Sylvester added.
He said that following a review, PERKESO confirmed that the victim’s dependents are eligible to receive the Survivors’ Pension, which is expected to help ease the family’s financial burden.
