KING OFFICIATES UPNM SULTAN IBRAHIM MOSQUE

KUALA LUMPUR, March 3 (Bernama) -- His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, today officiated the Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) Sultan Ibrahim Mosque, here, and attended a breaking-of-fast ceremony at the mosque.

The King arrived at 7 pm, accompanied by his sons, Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Al-Haj Sultan Ibrahim, and Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar Al-Haj Sultan Ibrahim.

His Majesty was received by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.

Also present were Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and Chief of Defence Force General Datuk Malek Razak Sulaiman.

The ceremony began with the King officiating the UPNM Sultan Ibrahim Mosque, by signing a commemorative plaque as a symbolic gesture of its official opening.

Following the ceremony, Sultan Ibrahim attended a breaking of the fast and performed the Maghrib prayers in congregation with the UPNM community.
