KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 14 (Bernama) -- After retaining the men’s singles SU5 (physical impairment) title at the BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2026 in Manama, Bahrain today, Cheah Liek Hou once again clinched gold, this time in the men’s doubles SU5 event with partner Mohamad Faris Ahmad Azri.

In the action at Isa Sports City, the Liek Hou-Mohamad Azri pairing had little trouble overcoming the second seeds from Taiwan, Fang Jen Yu–Pu Gui Yu 23-21, 21-13 in the final that took just 35 minutes to seal the title.

It was the seventh men’s doubles SU5 world title for Liek Hou, who had previously won it in 2005, 2007, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2024.

Earlier, the 37-year-old Paris 2024 Paralympic Games gold medallist defended the men’s singles SU5 title after recording a 21-6, 21-11 win over Fang.
