KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 14 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi hopes the appointment of Mohamed Ismi Abdul Majid as the new Felcra Berhad chief executive officer will continue the agenda of strengthening the organisation.

Ahmad Zahid posted on Facebook today that Felcra can benefit from Mohamed Ismi's experience and expertise in organisational management, accountancy and finance.

Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, described the appointment as vital, especially in ensuring that the well-being of Felcra participants continues to be prioritised, in addition to empowering the sustainable development of rural areas.

"With the commitment of the entire Felcra family and collaboration of all parties, I'm confident this organisation will become more progressive and remain as an institution that brings significant benefits to its participants, as well as the development of rural areas in the country,” he said, while congratulating Mohamed Ismi on his appointment.

Mohamed Ismi replaces Datuk Idris Lasim, who retired in early December last year after more than three decades of distinguished service with Felcra.
