KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 11 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) has opened a new office in Taman Ikan Emas, Cheras, in conjunction with its 33rd anniversary this year.

Saifuddin Nasution, who is also the MCPF chairman, in his speech, called on MCPF to continue serving as a strategic collaborative platform among the government, security authorities, the private sector and the community in helping to curb crime.

Meanwhile, Azman, who is also the Prime Minister’s political secretary, said in his speech that the opening of the MCPF Kuala Lumpur office is a symbol of the foundation's continued commitment to strengthening the community safety network and enhancing the coordination of crime prevention programmes in the capital.

"The existence of the premises is very meaningful because it will function as the heart of administration, a strategic discussion space, as well as a centre for implementing inclusive community programmes, in line with the values of well-being within the Malaysia MADANI framework.

"The MCPF Kuala Lumpur is one of the key contributors to crime prevention activities. In 2025, we implemented 84 programmes, which is about 20 per cent of the total 430 programmes carried out by the MCPF.

"Our main focus is still on high-impact programmes in schools, the corporate sector and grassroots communities,” he said.

He said the MCPF is committed to being a leader in the crime prevention agenda through strategic collaboration with various parties, empowering communities through education and training, as well as crime prevention programmes.

He added that the MCPF also forged close cooperation with the public and private sectors to ensure the objective of creating security and harmony in the community can be achieved, especially in the Federal Territory.

Azman hopes that the opening of the office will be a catalyst for the implementation of more awareness initiatives and early intervention in a bid to reduce crime rates and increase the sense of security among the community.
