SHAH ALAM, Feb 7 (Bernama) -- Selangor FC has banned Ultras Selangor from attending three matches following an incident involving several fans ahead of a Super League match against Terengganu FC last week.
The club said that the three-match ban will begin with tomorrow’s match, the Malaysia Cup quarterfinal match against Negeri Sembilan FC and the Super League match against Kuching City FC.
It also stressed that individuals found guilty of drug use or possession will be banned from any Selangor FC match for three years effective immediately.
“Selangor FC welcomes the decree by the club’s royal patron, Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and the advice of Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah as club chairman regarding the incident.
“The club will not compromise with any legal violation and will continue to work with the authorities to ensure public safety and order,” the club said in a statement today.
Selangor FC also expressed its hope that the incident will serve as a lesson to Ultras Selangor and that they will return to the stadium with new-found spirit and serve as examples on how to make local football festive.
“Selangor FC also urges all fans to continue to support the club responsibly and to have mutual respect to preserve public safety, the club’s image and the future of local football,” the club said.
