KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 17 (Bernama) -- The Foreign Ministry has confirmed that actress Nadia Kesuma, who was reported missing while transiting at King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah last Thursday, has exited the airport premises.
Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said the confirmation was received by the Consulate General of Malaysia in Jeddah from the Saudi Arabian immigration authorities.
“After 20 hours of being uncontactable, the case can be classified as a missing person report, and I have instructed the Malaysian consulate office to make every effort to assist in the search,” he told reporters, when met at the 2025 UMNO General Assembly, here, today.
Mohamad said this when asked about developments in the disappearance of the actress, who became uncontactable after transiting at King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah on Thursday, while en route from Kuala Lumpur to London.
He added that the Malaysian consulate is working closely with Saudi police, to ensure that search efforts are carried out smoothly and effectively.
“We must place our trust in the competence of the police, and we ask the family to remain calm. We will continue to do our best to locate her,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mohamad stressed that the travel agency responsible for arranging Nadia’s trip must also play a role in managing the missing person case.
Earlier today, Malaysian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Datuk Syed Bakri Syed Abdul Rahman told Bernama that a report on the actress’s disappearance had been lodged, and that the embassy was awaiting the outcome of investigations by the Saudi police.
