MAJOR STOCK MARKET INDICES WORLDWIDE

BEIJING, Jan 12 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The following are the indices of stock markets in Asia on Monday, reported Xinhua.

IN ASIA

The Shanghai Composite Index opened at 4,134.89 points, up 14.46 points, or 0.35 per cent.

The Shenzhen Component Index opened at 14,186.86 points, up 66.71 points, or 0.47 per cent.

The Hang Seng Index opened at 26,376.84 points, up 145.05 points, or 0.55 per cent.

The S&P/ASX 200 index opened at 8,750.40 points, up 32.60 points, or 0.37 per cent.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average had no trading.

The Straits Times Index opened at 4,750.44 points, up 5.78 points, or 0.12 per cent.

The Korea Composite Stock Price Index opened at 4,639.89 points, up 53.57 points, or 1.17 per cent.
