JEDDAH, Jan 7 (Bernama-SPA) -- The General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) announced that an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers will be held on Saturday (Jan 10) to discuss the deteriorating situation in Somalia.
Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported the meeting follows recent events, particularly Israel’s recognition of the so-called “Somaliland” as an independent state, a move that constitutes a violation of Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
It aims to formulate a unified Islamic position on these developments and reaffirm the OIC’s unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Somalia, in line with international conventions and relevant OIC resolutions.
