KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 2 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Cup defending champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) will start their cup defence against PDRM FC in the first round of 16 match on Jan 17.
At the Malaysia Cup draw tonight, the Southern Tigers will visit their opponents before playing at home at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri in Johor, and should they advance to the quarterfinal stage, they are set to meet either Melaka FC or Sabah FC.
Meanwhile, 2021 Malaysia Cup champions Kuala Lumpur City FC are drawn to meet semi-pro A1 League team Perak FA while another semi-pro team, UM-Damansara United will face Terengganu FC.
On the other side of the tournament bracket, 33-time Malaysia Cup champions Selangor FC will take on Kelantan The Real Warriors FC, with the winner facing either Imigresen FC or Negeri Sembilan FC, while Kuching FC have been drawn to meet Penang FC and semi pro Kelantan Red Warriors FC will be up against DPMM FC.
The round of 16 matches are slated to begin on Jan 17 and the final match is expected to be held in May.
Teams that fail to reach the quarterfinal will carry on their challenge in the Malaysian Football League (MFL) Challenge Cup 2025-2026.
