KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 24 (Bernama) -- The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) announced that this year’s New Year Countdown will take place at the Chater Road Pedestrian Precinct in Central, featuring a new format that combines live music performances with an immersive light show.

The New Year countdown will feature live performances headlined by internationally acclaimed group Air Supply, alongside local artists Jay Fung and Cloud Wan, as well as a children’s choir and the Hong Kong Police Band.

According to HKTB in a statement, eight iconic buildings in Central will participate in a three-minute immersive light show themed "New Hopes, New Beginnings", featuring countdown projections and festive visuals.

Large screens will be set up at Chater Garden and Edinburgh Place, with additional outdoor live projections at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui and a giant countdown clock displayed on the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai.

The countdown will be livestreamed on DiscoverHongKong.com and HKTB’s social media channels, including Facebook and YouTube, and broadcast worldwide via live satellite feed to welcome the arrival of 2026.

HKTB has also highlighted a range of New Year’s Eve countdown activities across Hong Kong, including events at Hong Kong Disneyland and the West Kowloon Cultural District, available on its one-stop travel information portal.
