THAI PM ANUTIN HINTS AT EARLY DISSOLUTION OF PARLIAMENT

12/12/2025 12:29 AM

BANGKOK, Dec 11 (Bernama) -- Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has hinted at dissolving the House of Representatives, paving the way for a new general election.

In his latest Facebook post on Thursday’s night, Anutin wrote in Thai, stating: “I am returning the power to the people.”

Some Thai local media reported that Anutin has already submitted the royal decree for the House’s dissolution to seek royal endorsement this evening, while the focus now is on whether the Royal Gazette will publish the royal command later tonight.

Anutin had earlier said in September that he planned to dissolve the Parliament by the end of January, with a general election expected to be held in March or early April.

It remained unclear whether his latest message indicated that he plans to act earlier than previously announced.
