KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 2 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia Semiconductor Recruitment Day (MSRD), to be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from Oct 8 to 11, will offer more than 500 job opportunities from over 30 global and local companies.

In a joint statement, the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (SIDEC) and Advanced Semiconductor Academy of Malaysia (ASEM) said the event, which offers free admission, is organised in conjunction with the Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention (SDEC) 2025 under the theme “AI × Semiconductor: Blitzscaling Malaysia’s Deep Tech”.

The first cut of exhibitors features global names such as AMD, NSW Inc, Texas Instruments, ST Microelectronics, Infineon, Supermicro, alongside a strengthening local tier including SkyeChip, Maistorage Technology, HexoSys, SMD Semiconductor, SOPHIC Automation, Tenasic Technology, Weeroc Space, with more to be announced.

“MSRD compresses months of job search into four high-signal days. Candidates meet hiring managers and engineers face-to-face, then step into sessions that mirror the real stacks they’ll use at work,” said ASEM general manager Angel Low.

MSRD will also feature Arm On-Demand Learning sessions for rapid upskilling, a keynote address by former vice-president of Nvidia Corp Datuk Lai Yit Loong, and a Synopsys Singapore Technical Update, while Cadence will conduct technical briefings to provide live exposure to tools widely used in design, verification and manufacturing.

The organisers said indicative salary ranges provided by participating employers are between RM5,000 and RM6,000 for fresh graduates, and around RM7,000 where a master’s degree aligns with relevant experience, although actual offers will vary by company and role.

The guidance aims to make on-site discussions more productive.

Students and mid-career engineers are advised to bring both printed and digital copies of their resumes, as well as portfolio snippets (code, verification environments, and PCB shots). They are also encouraged to be prepared with precise questions about toolchains, product lifecycle and success metrics at six months.

Students and early-career engineers who wish to attend are encouraged to pre-register for entry and session updates via https://www.asemedu.com/go/msrdsidec.

“For employers, the calculus is equally clear, MSRD combines top-of-funnel sourcing, brand building and first-round technical dialogue in one venue,” the statement said.
