JOHOR BAHRU, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- The Johor state government is urging the public, including foreign visitors, to download the National Integrated Immigration System (MyNIISe) application to facilitate the immigration entry and exit process at the country’s entry points.
State Public Works, Transportation, Infrastructure, and Communications Committee chairman Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh, said that his visit to the Sultan Abu Bakar Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine Complex (CIQ) today saw that many are still unaware of the system.
“At the car counters, although QR code facilities have been installed at six entry and exit counters, I noticed that many are still not informed about the system,” he said in a Facebook post.
He urged those who frequently travel between Johor and Singapore to register for MyNIISe, as the QR code system will soon be expanded to all border counters.
The Home Ministry (KDN) is conducting a trial of the system at KSAB and the Sultan Iskandar Building (BSI) from Sept 22 to Feb 28 next year. During the trial, the QR code system and the existing MyBorderPass app will continue to be used.
The NIISe system is a key initiative under the government’s reform agenda, with its implementation being expedited from the original schedule of March 2026. The app is now available for download on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei App Gallery.
At the same time, Mohamad Fazli noted that he had also inspected the progress of installing eight face recognition (FR) machines and QR codes (four inbound, four outbound) to replace the old, damaged equipment.
“These machines will function similarly to MyBorderPass but will use the MyNIISe app. These machines will begin testing next month and will later be expanded to all motorcycle counters at KSAB and BSI,” he said.
