IPOH POLICE HUNT FOR HOUSEBREAKING SUSPECT

IPOH, Sept 17 (Bernama) -- Police are hunting for a man suspected of being involved in a housebreaking case in Lapangan Perdana here on Sept 13.

Ipoh district police chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said in the incident at 2.48 pm, the suspect was seen wearing a blue cap and face mask before breaking into a house.

"After that, the suspect fled using a Proton Persona car bearing the registration number BMH 7286," he said in a statement today.

He said a check found that the vehicle had previously been reported missing in Taman Rishah and that the case is being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code.

He also said the housebreaking case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code.

“Police efforts to trace the suspect are underway. Members of the public with any information relatedto the case are asked to contact the Ipoh district police headquarters at 05-2451542 to assist in the investigation,” he added.
