TAIPING, Sept 13 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Education (MOE) is implementing a zero-tolerance culture on bullying in schools, said Deputy Minister Wong Kah Woh.

He said the MOE has issued guidelines through a special circular (SPI) regarding the procedures that have been set to deal with bullying cases appropriately.

He added that efforts to eradicate bullying are not a one-off initiative but a long-term commitment.

“Cooperation between the MOE, the state education department, the district education office, as well as parents and the community, plays a crucial role in ensuring bullying incidents are eradicated at all levels,” he said.

Wong, who is also the Member of Parliament for Taiping, said this to reporters after officiating the district-level National Day and Malaysia Day celebration for Larut, Matang and Selama.

The celebration, held at Dataran Warisan Taiping, was attended by about 5,000 people from all walks of life.
