KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 (Bernama) -- Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan will undertake a two-day working visit to Melbourne from Sept 11 to co-chair the 7th Malaysia-Australia Annual Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AFMM) – a key platform to review and strengthen bilateral cooperation – with his Australian counterpart Penny Wong.

The Foreign Ministers are also expected to discuss ASEAN-Australia dialogue relations, which were elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2021, it said.
Wisma Putra noted that a Joint Statement will be issued following the Annual Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
Mohamad is also scheduled to pay a courtesy call on the Governor of Victoria, Margaret Gardner.
Wisma Putra said the working visit underscores Malaysia’s commitment to advancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) with Australia, building on existing foundations of trust, mutual respect and shared aspirations.
