RUNNER-UP FINISHES FOR AINAA, AMEESHENRAJ IN TUANKU MUHRIZ TROPHY

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 31 (Bernama) -- National squash players - C. Ameeshenraj and Noor Ainaa Amani Ampandi - finished as runners-up in the men’s and women’s singles event of the 2025 Tuanku Muhriz Trophy in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan today.

In the finals held at the Haji Mohd Said Sports Complex in Seremban 2, Ainaa Amani took to the court first but fell 4-11, 2-11, 2-11 to eighth-seeded Nadien Elhammamy of Egypt in 25 minutes.

Second seed Ameeshenraj then went down fighting 11-8, 9-11, 3-11, 13-15 to Egypt’s Mohamed Sharaf in the men’s title showdown that lasted slightly more than an hour.

In the 2024 edition, Malaysia’s Aira Azman bagged the women's crown while India’s Abhay Singh clinched the men’s title.

The Tuanku Muhriz is a tournament under the Professional Squash Association (PSA) Challenger Tour, which is a lower-tier competition compared to the PSA World Tour.
