PUTRAJAYA, Aug 28 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) through its agency, Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO), is offering a Trademark Fee Reduction Package in conjunction with the National Day, Malaysia Day 2025 (HKHM 2025) celebrations.

Its Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the campaign, themed 'Protect Local Brands, Penetrate Global Markets', would be implemented for four months starting from Sept 1 to Dec 31, 2025.

He said through the package, the trademark fee would be reduced by RM300, making the fee only RM650 compared to the original rate of RM950 for each application by individuals or business entities including associations and organisations.

"Every application for a business brand or logo that is approved for registration will be protected for 10 years under intellectual property laws.

"The objective of this initiative is to encourage the registration of intellectual property and thus increase the competitiveness of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and local brands," he said in a press conference after attending the ministry-level HKHM 2025 celebration, here today.

Armizan said SME Corp data showed that 96.1 per cent of all business entities in Malaysia were MSMEs and more than 70 per cent of them were micro enterprises.

Apart from MyIPO, Armizan said strategic partners of KPDN were also making a special offer to the people in conjunction with HKHM 2025.

"Starting yesterday, Shopee has launched the 'Shopee Payung RM100 Campaign' starting from Aug 31 until Sept 16, where through this campaign, Shopee customers can get Shopee vouchers worth RM100 for only RM1.

"With a payment of as little as RM1, users will be given a voucher worth RM100 to use to purchase goods on the Shopee platform such as ShopeeFood, Shopee Live and ShopeePay," he said.

Armizan said Shopee has allocated RM10 million under the campaign and will benefit 100,000 Shopee customers or users.

He said Shopee is also offering free delivery services for purchases made between Aug 31 and Sept 16.

"The initiatives implemented by KPDN agencies and strategic partners in the e-commerce sector, namely Shopee, are a manifestation of commitment to supporting the people and a sign of appreciation for the togetherness of all races in Malaysia in building a more peaceful and prosperous country," he said.

Meanwhile, at today's programme, Armizan also launched the Ezbiz On-The-Go 2.0 Bus, which is a mobile service to make it easier for the public to access Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) services faster, easier and more comfortable.

The Ezbiz On-The-Go 2.0 bus, which replaces the Ezbiz On-The-Go bus, features a more contemporary and customer-friendly design including the use of the latest technology.

Among the improved facilities for the Ezbiz On-The-Go 2.0 bus are a larger bus size, modern counter services, self-service terminals with mobile touch screen kiosks and comfortable briefing rooms.
