KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25 (Bernama) – Rumours are rife that there could be a change in the post of president involving the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) soon.
According to sources, the matter will be detailed at an important meeting of the governing body in the near future but reports say he had already tendered his resignation last week.
The source, however, refused to disclose the cause or factors leading to the potential candidate who will take over the leadership.
The current FAM President is Datuk Mohd Joehari Mohd Ayub, who won unopposed at the FAM election of office bearers for the 2025-2029 term held last February.
Mohd Joehari who was previously the Vice President, is the eighth FAM president and the first person from Sabah to lead the country's football governing body, replacing Tan Sri Hamidin Mohd Amin.
The current FAM deputy presidents are Datuk Yusof Mahadi and Datuk S. Sivasundaram.
