KOTA TINGGI, June 24 (Bernama) -- A man died, while another was seriously injured in an accident involving three vehicles at Kilometre 60 of Jalan Johor Bahru - Mersing here, last night.
Kota Tinggi district police chief Supt Yusof Othman said his department received information on the incident involving a Honda Stream car, a Hino lorry and a Toyota Hilux at about 11.55 last night.
He said investigations revealed that the accident is believed to have occurred when the Honda Stream from Mersing to Kota Tinggi lost control and skidded to hit the lorry coming from the opposite direction before colliding with the Toyota Hilux behind the lorry.
"As a result of the accident, the 34-year-old driver of the car died at the scene from serious injuries while his passenger escaped with minor injuries.
"The driver of the Toyota Hilux had serious head injuries and is being treated at the Kota Tinggi Hospital while the lorry driver was unhurt," he said in a statement today.
Yusof said the case was still under investigation under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
