MINA (Saudi Arabia), June 7 (Bernama-SPA) -- Saudi Arabia’s National Water Company (NWC) announced that it distributed a total of 904,941 cubic metres of water across Makkah and the holy sites on the first day of Eid al-Adha, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
In a statement, the company said water pumping operations continued around the clock without interruption to the networks serving the holy sites and the facilities of the Grand Mosque.
Water supply to Makkah’s networked neighbourhoods also proceeded according to schedule, with no major disruptions reported.
The initiative forms part of the company’s broader operational plan to ensure stable and sufficient water distribution during the Hajj season, when demand significantly increases due to the large number of pilgrims.
This year, the first day of Eid al-Adha falls on June 6 in Saudi Arabia and neighbouring countries, while some other countries mark it on June 7.
