Saudi Arabia Calls For Closer Cooperation With Muslim-Majority Economies Including Malaysia

The call was made by Federation of Saudi Chambers (FSC) chairman and Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD) president Abdullah Saleh Kamel during the 40th ICCD Board of Directors Meeting and the 72nd Finance Committee Meeting in Ankara, Turkiye.

He said the participation of the FSC, as the representative of the Saudi business sector, comes as an extension of the Kingdom’s leading role as one of the largest supporters of the ICCD since its establishment, and reflects its commitment to strengthening economic cooperation among Islamic countries.

“The message is also relevant to major Muslim-majority economies such as Malaysia and Indonesia, where private-sector growth, youth entrepreneurship, food security, sustainable agriculture and regional trade connectivity remain central to long-term economic development,” the statement said. 

He added that the ICCD is keen to expand intra-Islamic trade and investment in a way that contributes to economic integration and creates quality opportunities for young people and entrepreneurs.

During its meetings, the ICCD Board of Directors discussed a number of issues related to developing the chamber’s work and future initiatives.

It also followed up on the implementation of projects and programmes aimed at strengthening economic and development cooperation among Islamic countries and discussed the ICCD’s golden jubilee celebration in 2027.
