PUTRAJAYA, June 22 (Bernama) -- Bangladesh Prime Minister’s wife, Dr Zubaida Rahman, spent some time today on a Putrajaya Lake Cruise, taking in views of the iconic landmarks around Putrajaya from the boat.
Upon her arrival at 9.30 am, she was welcomed by Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, wife of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh.
Dr Zubaida also spent about an hour interacting with Dr Wan Azizah and Hannah while enjoying the scenic views of Putrajaya.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Dr Zubaida arrived in Malaysia on Sunday night for a two-day official visit aimed at strengthening the already close bilateral ties between the two countries, as well as expanding cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.
The visit, at the invitation of Anwar, marks Tarique’s first official bilateral visit abroad since assuming office in February 2026.
Bangladesh is currently Malaysia’s 28th-largest trading partner globally, with total trade valued at RM12.18 billion, and is Malaysia’s second-largest trading partner in South Asia after India.
