KANGAR, June 16  (Bernama) -- No child should be denied access to education simply because of financial difficulties, said the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail.

His Highness said every child deserves the opportunity to receive quality education regardless of family background, social status or economic circumstances.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra emphasised that early childhood education plays a crucial role in shaping knowledgeable, competitive and morally grounded individuals, as it serves as the foundation for learning, character development and unlocking a child’s potential.

“Indeed, education is the foundation of nation-building and national development,” he said at the presentation of this year’s “Seorang Anak Sebesar Harapan” scholarship here today.

Also in attendance was the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra said the scholarship initiative should not merely be viewed as financial assistance but as a meaningful investment in shaping the future of the nation’s young generation.

“I am pleased to witness the commitment shown by various parties in ensuring that more children can enjoy the benefits of quality early education,” he said.

The Raja Muda of Perlis said such initiatives demonstrate that educational development is a shared responsibility that requires close collaboration among educational institutions, the private sector, parents and society as a whole.

“Through this cooperation, I believe that every effort to expand access to quality early education will bring long-term benefits to the country and produce a generation that is knowledgeable, possesses integrity and has a strong sense of identity,” he said.
