Man Killed In Two-vehicle Crash In Sibu

SIBU, June 16 (Bernama) -- A man was killed while two others were injured in a crash involving a Honda City and a Toyota Hilux at the Pulau Dudong roundabout of Jalan Sibu-Kanowit Road this morning.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said it received an emergency call at 8.32 am and dispatched a five-member team from the Sibu Jaya Fire and Rescue Station to the scene.

“Upon arrival, firefighters found the driver of the Honda City pinned to his seat.

“The victim was successfully removed from the wreckage but was pronounced dead at the scene,” the department said in a statement.

Another occupant of the Honda City and the driver of the Toyota Hilux sustained injuries. Both received initial treatment at the scene before being handed over to medical personnel for further care.

The victim’s body was later handed over to the police for further investigation
