KUANTAN, May 26 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has expressed hope that relevant parties will be more proactive in ensuring basic amenities such as electricity and water supply, as well as other infrastructure, are adequately provided to the people throughout Pahang, particularly in rural and interior areas.

In a post on the Kesultanan Pahang Facebook page, the Pahang Royal Household said His Royal Highness has always placed strong emphasis on the welfare of the people and wishes for all levels of society in the state to enjoy basic facilities for a better quality of life.

At the same time, the Sultan of Pahang also expressed his appreciation to Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) and the Jerantut District and Land Office for their swift action in facilitating the provision of electricity to a family in Kampung Kuala Sat, Ulu Tembeling, Jerantut.

“His Royal Highness is delighted that the family, who had lived without electricity for nearly 13 years, are now finally receiving the supply following prompt action taken by the relevant parties,” the post said.

Previously, the three-member family gained public attention after they stopped the Sultan of Pahang’s convoy while it was passing through Kampung Kuala Sat, holding a placard that read ‘Ampun Tuanku, mohon berhenti sekejap’ (Pardon Your Royal Highness, please stop for a moment) to highlight their difficulties.

His Royal Highness, who was personally driving, graciously stopped and listened to the family’s plight. They took the opportunity to inform the Pahang ruler that they had long lived without electricity.

Following this, TNB and the Jerantut District and Land Office took immediate action by installing the necessary equipment and related facilities, and electricity was successfully supplied to the family’s home today.
